Best Mexican food and service is top notch. We have never found a better frozen margarita. If you judge a Mexican restaurant by their margarita, like my brother does, you'll definitely return here. Food portions are generous. We haven't had anything we didn't like. Let's not forget the free fried banana with whipped cream when you finish your meal. We left the state of Illinois but this place is our definite go-to when we're back
Have been driving past here for years, finally stopped in this past weekend. Walked in and it had a nice atmosphere. We were greeted right away and seated. Ordered some 1800 grande margaritas to start. For appetizers we got the chicken quesadillas and the pork tamales. The chicken in the quesadillas was moist and flavorful . The pork tamales had a nice spicy kick. My wife enjoyed the barbacoa flautas and the picadillo enchiladas I had were also very good. The biggest surprise was the complimentary fried banana dessert ! The entire staff were wonderful. It was a great dining experience !
Authentic test.
About La Hacienda de Roselle
La Hacienda de Roselle reports more than 30 years with its community. Its website describes a family-owned restaurant cooking both Mexican and Tex-Mex food.
Lunch and dinner buffets
The business describes itself as a cantina that sets out a buffet at lunch and again at dinner, alongside a full menu. Guests can work the buffet line or order plates to the table.
The restaurant recommends reservations for groups of five or more. It states that same-day bookings close at 5:00 PM.
Margaritas and traditional plates
The bar program centers on margaritas, served next to a menu of traditional Mexican dishes. Plates run from tamales and flautas to enchiladas and carne asada a la tampiqueña.
Reviewers mention most often the warm house chips with several salsas, very large portions, the frozen and grande margaritas, and a free fried banana dessert after the meal. Skirt steak and the tacos draw repeat praise, though one short review found the tacos underseasoned.
Mexican and Tex-Mex dining
The company says its kitchen aims for authentic versions of both cuisines, which it frames as comfort food. Roselle, in DuPage County, had a population of 22,756 in 2025, per the Census Bureau. The town averages 39.5 inches of precipitation and 33.3 inches of snow a year, per NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020.
The dining room is open seven days, from late morning into the evening. Google reviewers rate it 4.6 across 1,759 reviews. The restaurant names its audience as diners across the Chicagoland Northwest Suburbs, and several reviewers came as families marking birthdays and holidays.
